The TNA discovered an important technological gap in Argentina's monitoring of the climate. The meteorological stations were only checked periodically, rendering the data collected highly unreliable. A key criterion was thus the introduction of continuous data collection to provide reliable data. This was vital for introducing adaptation measures.

Based on the TNA and funded by the Green Climate Fund, Armenia's Ministry of Nature Protection launched a project in 2016. The project will build the market for energy efficiency building retrofits in Armenia, leading to sizeable energy savings and GHG emission reductions (up to 5.8 million tCO2 of direct and indirect emission savings over the 20-year equipment lifetimes), green job creation and energy poverty reduction. It will directly benefit over 200,000 people and will catalyse private and public sector investment of approximately USD 100 million.

Based on climate scenarios in Burkina Faso, it was calculated that the installation of a 10MWc generator would result in 5.5 kWh produced per m2 per day. Being the primary sector in the country, agriculture production generates approximately four to eight million tonnes of residual waste. This waste, together with the waste generated by cities, is not recycled and releases significant amounts of greenhouse gasses. Accordingly, the TNA has led to biogas technologies and the production of briquettes from forestry waste being prioritized as measures to curb the emissions released from the residual waste. As a result, two companies, ADERCI and SITRADE, will incorporate biogas production into their waste management plants.

The TNA identified reforestation as a priority measure for Guyana's mitigation efforts. Reforestation was prioritized as a measure to combat current deforestation rates and because it has substantial potential to avoid GHG emissions. It is estimated that reforestation in Guyana can contribute a reduction of up to 48,700,000 tCO2e to the global mitigation targets.

One of technologies highlighted by the TNA was the use of biodigesters, as they have great potential in managing manure to control the amount of methane released into the atmosphere. In the case of Honduras, they can be utilized in gas production for domestic use, lighting, heating and in some cases power generation. If one biodigester is constructed per family with livestock, it is estimated that each biodigester will lead to a reduction of 1 to 5 tCO2e per year.

As a result, the scale of the pilot programme already launched by the Moroccan government was changed to cover the distribution of solar pumps for irrigation. Between 2015 and 2025, 30,000 pumps will be installed, instead of the initial target of approximately 5,000 pumps over the next five years. Peru is regionally diverse, with coastal plains in the West, Andean uplands in the centre and a tropical region in the East where it encompasses a large part of the Amazon. The TNA process mirrored these regions particularities, as they each face specific challenges. Experience show how this diversity makes it impossible to conduct effective assessments within a broad national scope. Accordingly, the TNA team adopted an approach in which technologies were chosen based on their regional relevance, as each region calls for different technological needs.

Given the increased likelihood of similar extreme weather events in the future, the prime minister instructed the authorities to put in place more medical emergency care and rehabilitation measures, as proposed by the TNA. Thus, the TNA worked as a helpful tool in carrying out swift solutions through simple, low-cost technologies while at the same time building longer-term resilience to climate change.

KawiSawi is a newly established investment fund in Rwanda and Kenya. The fund is based on the TNA results and it is supported by the Green Climate Fund. Its purpose is to drive off-grid solar power in East Africa, where it through investments in 10-15 clean energy companies will provide household solar technologies. The project has a lifespan of twelve years and it is projected that a total emission of 1.5 million tCO2 will be avoided.

Based on the outcomes from the TNA, several projects in the private and public spheres have been initiated to boost the renewable energy sector. An example is the private company Thecogas Senegal SARL, which, together with the National Office of Sanitation, has installed a biomass combustor at a Dakar slaughterhouse. The facility has a capacity of 100 kW and is the first of its kind, providing over 60% of its energy needs.

Among the outcomes from the TNA is a recommendation to introduce low-interest credit schemes for mitigation technologies. This is suggested because analysis in the TNA has shown how a 30% increase of energy-efficient motor usage in the industrial sector can reduce energy consumption by 10% to 13%, with an expected reduction of about 130,000 tCO2e.

Tanzania's new Technology Action Plan for the water sector identifies smart water meters as a key priority for Tanzania to address the widespread problem of water that is lost before reaching the consumer. The plan identifies and analyses barriers and the enabling framework conditions, which are required for introducing water leakage management through smart water metering systems. Thereby it starts the digitalization of the water sector in Tanzania. Embarking into a smart water metering programme is a huge challenge and involves extensive planning, training of personnel, customer information system and management. A higher awareness of water consumption is a key contribution by the smart water meters, but digitalization will also have a significant impact on preserving the country’s water resources in general.

The Technology Action Plan proposes a project to disseminate prioritized technologies and support Togo's National Rural Electrification Program. The project's aim is to implement small hydroelectric power plants and photovoltaic solar stations in five administrative regions of Togo. The goal is to install four small hydroelectric power plants and six photovoltaic solar stations across the five regions. It is estimated that this will reduce GHG emissions by 300,000 to 800,000 tCO2.

By expanding on pre-existing national strategies in Tunisia, the TNA recommends increasing conservation agriculture practices. The Technology Action Plan details a project to implement this suggestion. The goal is to increase the area under conservation agriculture from its current 12,000 ha to 33,000 ha by 2025 and 180,000 ha by 2030, ultimately reaching 350,000 ha by 2050. This ambition will leverage the potential of conservation agriculture to ensure the sustainability of the grain system and improve current and future food security.
