The Guinea started on its TNA process in 2020 as part of the TNA IV project, at which point it has decided its priority sectors and technologies for both mitigation and adaptation. Over the past years, the country assessed barriers and identified measures for priority technologies. Guinea successfully completed its TNA in 2024.

With a coastline facing the Atlantic Ocean, Guinea is located in West Africa, where it neighbours, among other states, Sierra Leone, Mali and Senegal. Its economy is predominantly based on agriculture and mineral exploitation. Climate change in Guinea is manifesting itself through changed patterns and overall reduction of rain, and recurrent droughts and floods.
