Guidance for a gender-responsive Technology Needs Assessment

The new gender and TNA guidebook familiarizes the reader with gender concepts and demonstrates the relevance of gender issues to climate change adaptation and mitigation, as well as to the relationship between gender and climate in the Sustainable Development Goals. The guide is focused on two key areas of activity:

• Institutionalization of gender-mainstreaming by the TNA team in order to create the long-term capacity to address gender issues in climate change adaptation and mitigation and to ensure that such issues are included in project documents.

• Implementation of actions, including conducting gender analyses in considering technology options, agreeing on gender-specific goals in the TNA, and integrating gender issues into Technology Action Plans and throughout TNAs.
